The future development of towns, cities, regions and neighborhoods must be addressed at international, national and local level. The Future Cities Forum international conference will therefore bring together a number of experts from various cities, backgrounds, and organizations to share their experiences and discuss the issues and challenges facing cities.
Nigel Bellingham, Director of the British Council in the Czech Republic and Project Director of Creative Cities, will participate in the round table on culture and creativity. Together with Dan Sequerra, Sheffield Cultural Industries Quarter, and Monika Dziegielewska-Geitz, Lodz Integrated Restoration Institute, he will discuss how culture and creativity can play a more significant part in the development of cities.
The conference will also focus on several other topical issues, such as sustainability, urban transport, city governance and management, technological progress and its impact on our lives, financing, etc. These are just some of the issues that will lead to more positive thinking on the regeneration of towns and cities. The delegates at the conference are being asked to come up with new ideas that will lead to an agenda for change.
The Future Cities Forum, which is organised by B.I.D. services, will take place on the 22nd and 23rd April 2009 in Brno. For a detailed programme and registration, please visit the Future Cities Forum website.
