Champions

Creative Cities champions are people who play an important role in promoting and disseminating innovations and ideas that make cities a better place to live, work and play. They can be individuals, or work within or across organisations. They involve in adopting or changing current ideas, practices or policies, as well as take lead in introducing new ways to address urban challenges.

    Pilsen
    Czech Republic

I work as a manager of community planning and public participation programmes in the Centre for Community Organising of West Bohemia (from 2007). From June 2009 I cooperate with The City of Pilsen within the preparation for the City of Pilsen candidature to the Europian Capital of Culture in 2015 as a production manager. From the beginning of my activity in the Centre for Community Organising of West Bohemia I participated on the community planning of social services projects which were realised in many municipalities in the Pilsen Region. I also acted as a moderator of working and control groups proceedings and of public meetings. I cooperate with the British Council organization on the Creative cities – Future City Game project since April 2008. The Future City Game was, within the preparation for the City of Pilsen candidature to the Europian Capital of Culture in 2015, held in the centre of the city and several urban neighbourhoods. I participate in this project as a trained gamemaster. I also realized the Future City Game in České Budějovice and I will participate in its realization in other Czech cities. Now I work as project coordinater for the City of Pilsen candidature to the Europian Capital of Culture in 2015.
