Fourth case-study workshop: Louise Hamilton, Young Investors (Sweden): "Communication" 14.00pm (23/03/2010)

Louise Hamilton may have a very English-sounding name but she is in fact Swedish. She runs a network for young entrepreneurs in Stockholm called ‘Young Investors’ which she set up in January 2009.
“We’re creating our own little eco-system”, she says.
Louise, 27, says she was interested in social enterprises and was looking around at all the networks she could join, like One Young World, but decided to set something up herself. After a year it has 15 active and 30 non-active members. They spent a lot of time listening to member views about social enterprise and researching the topic online before deciding what to do.
“I ran the Marathon in Stockholm and people kept asking me what cause I was running for”, says Louise.  “I didn’t know what they meant. In England when they run the Marathon they all raise money for their favourite charities. We don’t do that so much in Sweden. So we decided to set up a website a little like JustGiving to help connect sports with good causes.”

As an interactive art director in advertising and marketing Louise was in a good position to advise delegates on the best way to promote their enterprises and communicate effectively with their members and stakeholders using the power of the internet.
