The second day of the Forum has just started with more presentations and case studies of past and upcoming Future City Games across Europe. The Finnish team presented the game played in Helsinki with the aim to revitalise Suvilahti power plant and surrounding areas, and possibly use it as a cultural public space. The Game Masters claimed Future City Game proved to be an effective tool for building up a concept for a designated cultural area and facilitated cross-sectoral networking among stakeholders.
The Swedish team came up with a truly interactive flipchart presentation (no PowerPoint slides!) about a planned FCG in Stockholm, namely a municipality outside the city with 18,000 citizens. The task will be to connect three separated parts of the municipality, stimulate community participation and look for ways of mitigating such issues as immigration, segregation and unemployment.
More to come from Ukraine, Hungary, Denmark, Slovenia and UK!
