Day Three: Welcome: "We're people who want to do something!"
23.03.2010
Kicking off Day Three of the Creative Cities: Innovation for Urban Challenges conference Tony O’Brien, British Council Director Poland, and David Barrie, conference programme organizer, welcomed delegates and invited feedback on how the event was going. What aspects did they like, what features did they want more of?
Some particularly enjoyed the workshop forum where they could meet fellow social entrepreneurs and swap experiences and wanted more opportunity to interact like this. Others really enjoyed the site visit and seeing social enterprise working on a real, grass roots level in Warsaw. Talking and networking is useful but it was great to see enterprise in practice as well, they said.
Perhaps expressing some of this desire for action as well as talk, one delegate asked how they could develop something practical they could all do together as a result of the conference.
“We’re people who want to do something!” he said.
